Default Sweet Baby James cover.

I played my take on this lovely song on my McNally OM using a Fred Kelly Speed thumbpick. My second boy is called James (now 7) and still likes to hear it at bed time.

Recorded into a Zoom Q8 (internal mics one track) and cleaned up a little on Garageband for Ipad (touch of reverb and comp, and, multi-tracks and pan). I find this is a pretty decent mix for headphones but loses something over speakers.

Thanks for listening.

Lovely guitar playing, and your vocals is so nice.
I would like to hear this before bedtime, as well.
Nice artwork.
Thank you.

That was very nice Coler! I have always loved this song and your recording was a wonderful reminder! And how lovely that you have a son named James who you can sing this to!

Great tune, and I like your take on it. The picking is really nice. And I’ve always thought of it as a quintessentially American song with the cowboys, life on the range, etc, but your clear Irish accent and your approach to the vocal really transforms it into something more universal. Wonderful that you can sing it to your son named James - I’m guessing this song will always be really special to him…

Very special, E. That song sure meant a lot more to me when my daughter gave her boy this name, so I might know how you feel just a little bit when you sing it for him.

Your arrangement and delivery really hit home, just lovely

Thank you Ray - I guess there's a streak of American cowboy inside many Irish men and little boys.
