Default Original Fingerstyle: "Winter Dream"

HI folks! Well, you've all inspired me to add a tune in this holiday season!
Some years ago, a friend mentioned: "Hey, you should write a Christmas song!" Well, the idea stuck, and this turned out to be the result. Not exactly holiday/Christmas, but maybe a winter season type thing! LOL! I've not shared this on AGF, though it was completed some years ago. The picture is of the lighthouse at the end of the island where I live in all its winter splendor.
Hope you enjoy and best wishes for a great holiday!
Fred

Hi Fred!

You always find a way to throw a few curveballs in your compositions that grab ahold of my attention and keep it the whole way through - I loved this one! Very "wintery"!

Happy and safe holidays to you and your family!

My thanks, Marty!! This was played on a Bourgeois 00, (Adi/Guatemalan RW). That guitar gave me a lot of stuff!...But, it moved on for the "next guitar' several years ago. I do miss it!

Larry....thanks so much!! Real pleased that you liked this one! As I recall, this one "marinated" for a long while with a little change here and a little change there. Played on a Bourgeois 00, Adirondack/Guatemalan, Sig. guitar which has left the herd.
Wishing you and family the very best this holiday season.....and also good wishes for your new business!
Fred

Hi Fred,

Very nice! I know this piece from your Autumn's Soul CD. Very sweet and thought inspiring.

I love the photo of the winter lighthouse at the end of your road! Sure looks like winter there!

I hope you and your family enjoy the holidays Fred!

- Glenn

Thanks so much, Glenn! I thought you might recognize it!
Yes, this lighthouse is at the southern tip of Conanicut Island.....as you can imagine a real destination for many all year round. It is Beavertail Light and the second oldest in the country. The original platform can be seen today.....built in the 1700's, but of course the present structure is more recent; 1856.
Very glad you enjoyed this one again, Glenn.
My very best holiday wishes to you and your family!
Fred

Hi Fred,

That’s a great tune and it certainly held my interest all the way to the end. Just wonderful stuff. Regarding the picture, I’ve never seen the island looking like that. A different kind of beauty than what I’m used to from my visits. Here’s to summer

Hi Bob!! Great to hear from you and thank you for taking a listen! Very glad you thought this one was strong.
Yes, Beavertail is pretty serene at this time of year, but also fairly busy when weather permits, with folks walking out there, many with dogs in hand! Car traffic has been stopped in the roadway circling the lighthouse which makes it nice when strolling out there without looking out for cars. A nice change.
Happy New Year and to longer days ahead!
