I’m flying so bringing my flight proof Rainsong. It looks industrial compared to the beauties you folks are bringing. 3 weeks and counting!

I've been playing Dennis Lair's guitar for several days, and the set-up is getting very close to right. Here are a few pictures.

Actual bridal joint!!!

Default Lame Horse Saddle Pal Coming to BIG 2020

The Lame Horse Crew is really looking forward to BIG 2020. We think Tom may have come up with the perfect environment for guitar builders and guitar players to meet up in a relaxed, fun fashion. What a great idea - springtime in the beautiful Texas hill country with plenty of time to get to know each other, and to get to know the instruments. What fun! Here are some photos of the Saddle Pal we are bringing. Western red cedar top, waterfall bubinga back and sides, 25.5" scale, 12 frets to the body, VS custom tuners, Ameritage case, of course (like all Lame Horse Instruments) adjustable playing action and Rea access panel. Over the few days, we will post some more photos of other things we are bringing along.

Hey Chris. Had my bridge crack and break in two on my Gitjo. Any chance you could bring a replacement to B.I.G.? I can send you a pic if you want.

Actually it's not the bridge. It's the piece the strings are anchored in. (pictured is not my Gitjo)

I didn't know you had a Lame Horse gitjo, Dennis! I almost bought a five string banjo of theirs a few years ago just because it was so pretty, but I don't play banjo and don't really want to. If it had been a gitjo . . .

Chris, that saddle pal is phenomenal - I can't wait to play it! I hope you put some of these pics on my FB album. It looks like you beat most of the other luthiers to the punch in getting finished before the event (except for Bruce - he's had one done for months now!).

Stan,
I am really looking forward to seeing you at BIG, and thanking you in person for all the kind things you have said about our instruments. I hope you like what we have there. You have certainly helped the gathering along. I sincerely believe this may be the future of guitar shows. Chris

I hope you are right, Chris, about this being the future of guitar shows - I think it's an excellent format and I know I enjoy it more than I would one of the bigger shows ( because of my fear of crowds). The only problem is how is it possible to replicate Tom and Kathy? They put a huge amount of work into these events purely out of love - I doubt they even make enough money to offset the cost of the barbecue and whiskey, much less Tom's guitar acquisition habit!

I am looking forward to meeting you as well (and Jeremy, I hope). Making new friends is one of the great joys of BIG!
