I spent about 2 hours playing multiple guitars at Gruhn guitars in Nashville about 3 weeks back. The best sounding acoustic guitar I played there that day was a new Kraus 0000 they had in stock!! It made the Martin Custom Shop 0000 models sound bad by comparison.

It for sure got me interested in your guitars Bill, keep up the great work!

Stunning! Love the looks of this guitar - bet it sounds fantastic.
Can't wait to get my hands on mine (Bearclaw / Granadillo)
Thanks, Bill.

Smile Sweet...

Very classy axe!

I love the rosette, too. When I was in my 20s I lived for a long time on the bluff over the beach in Del Mar (North San Diego). I played drums in dance bands at night and surfed every day there were waves at all.

There were 3 mounds of abalone shells, each about the size of a Volkswagen on the property. I assume the work of indigenous people from the even more distant past... haha

Too bad I did not "harvest" them, tho I do have a couple still.

Beautiful instrument and Bobby's test drive speaks volumes!

Show us the headstock too, por favore!

Carry on and have FUN

Paul

Thanks for the kind words SuperB. I'd had the same reaction from people when I was selling through Mandolin Brothers before they closed, and I'm hoping to continue on with the same success selling through Gruhn Guitars in Nashville.
I should also mention that the guitar SuperB23 is talking about playing here is featured in another post on the forum, here is the link;

Amazing looking guitar and can only agree with the others on how great the rosette looks. Would also like to see the headstock as well.

Cheers, Paul

….[snip]….
Really nice looking guitar. It's also great to see that some luthiers get some of their work available at stores; always helpful to be able to see/hear a luthier built guitar (either to buy or to use as a baseline for a commission).

I had trouble finding the specific headstock photo for this guitar but it is the same as this one, Gotoh chrome 510's and Abalone logo in ebony veneer. The only difference is that in this photo the fretboard binding is koa, while the bindings on the guitar in the thread are Indian rosewood.
