I always wanted one and got my father, a furniture maker, to make one for me. Later, we replaced the pin block with a harder one, but I never strung it up or learned to play. And won't now. This is a big instrument; you'll have to bend your elbow when carrying it. had s a homemade case, not the least fancy. Probably, the strings are shot too.
Pay the shipping and you can have it, As I don't inhabit this part of the forum often, it is best to PM or email me ([email protected]). "The Price Is Right."

It's a long shot but you could ask Ken Kolodner if he'd like it but he likely has many already. Clawhammer banjoist extraordinaire, Brad Kolodner, is Ken's son and they have several videos playing together. Here's one:

I'm tempted, but don't know that I have room for it (I know my mother has wanted one for years, but she doesn't have room for it now either).

Hi there,
I've been searching and searching for a hammered dulcimer to learn on, that I could afford. If it's still available, I promise to take good care of it, and cherish it, and learn to play it…been a dream of mine for quite awhile. I believe I could afford the shipping…it would be coming to the 54521 area code, in Eagle River, WI. Look forward to your reply |
