Default Seymour Duncan MagMic issues

Would anyone know of a troubleshooting resource for these? I have a SD MagMic in my 000-28. I really like it but it is now "dead". Looks like there is a short somewhere (the battery gets hot and then drains quickly). Whatever the problem is, I'd like to spend some time trying to fix it before chucking it. Thanks for the help.

Never mind ... fixed it! To simplify, the issue is with the optional N type battery holder which I mounted and soldered. The "feet" of these 2 holders are too long and pierced thru the insulation and to the coils which then shorts out the battery. Fix that by unscrewing the back plate, push in the protruding feet (or cut them off), put electrical tape on the coil which will have scars from those feet, re-install the back and you're back in business.
