Hopefully the fretboard retains some of the mat like finish.

Once Jimmi was finished she fired it off to Jordan in a heartbeat. Jimmi is in such demand because of her incredible talent.

As I mentioned, the bird was inspired by a trip through south India, the vines remind me of the outdoors.

That looks like Jimmi's work all right. Amazing.

I know, i mentioned earlier the desire to have a non-reflective, vibrant, but not sparkly finish for the inlay. She used banded Malachite for the branches, dyed maple for the leaves which are non-reflective, and reconstituted stone for the bird.

thx for posting.

I just realized the yellow flowers on the fretboard are fret markers! (3, 5, 7, 9, 12) Beautiful and practical.

What does the yellow flower made from, by the way?

You headstock is amazing and I love the way the vine trails down the fretboard. Beautiful position markers. Just to prove its no fluke if you don't mind, let me show a headstock Jimmi did for me. (and if you do object let me know and I will remove it, certainly don't want to hijack a thread)But I gave her the family plaid and she did a lassie doing a sword dance. The girls an artist.

Yes, lovely plan by Jimmi, wasn't it.

Initially I debated about whether to go for some inlay. It's such a personal choice, but then I thought, so what. Let's see if we can create something really inspirational. I'm so glad I did.

I can't remember, but it may be reconstituted stone also, but I'll have a look at old emails. She did mention the flowers. But because of the choice of materials used, we were more limited on the colours available for the flowers. Apparently, some of the other colour choices had a plasticy look, so they look closer in colour than they might have, had other choices been available with the same finish look.

all the best,

Stuart

One thing I was quite certain of was the need for one of Jordan's cutaways. They have a lot of character, and I've always ended up moving around the neck of the guitar. As much as I can live with a 14 fret non-cutaway, it's nice to have an instrument or two that provide just a little more freedom.

Jordan had some great ideas that were implemented to pull the guitar together, the neck with the body, and the rosette itself was kept simple as the inlay was fairly elaborate. He's a couple of pics of the body with additional inlay in the top of the sides and below the neck block, tying the body together with the inlay. Simple and brilliant work by Jordan. The guitar is really coming together now.

I must admit, there is not much that can match the feeling of getting a hand made fine stellar looking and sounding instrument. Decadent, but we deserve it.
