Thanks for the heads up on this- it looks great. I'll be getting my library to order a copy! And I loved the Muscle Shoals film too.

This is a well known topic in the movie world. Here are some examples Babe and Gordy (1995) Turner and Hooch and K-9 (1989) Abyss and Leviathan (1989) Armageddon and Deep Impact (1998) Little Big League (1994) and Rookie of the Year (1993) Capote and Infamous (2006) Volcano and Dante's Peak (1997) Chasing Liberty and First Daughter (2004) Tombstone (1993) and Wyatt Earp (1994) The Prestige and The Illusionist (2006) Antz and A Bug's Life (1998) Stealing Harvard and Orange County (2002) Powder (1995) and Phenomenon (1996) Top Gun and Iron Eagle (1986) Red Planet and Mission to Mars (2000) The Truman Show (1998) and Ed TV (1999) The Wild (2006) and Madagascar (2005) Observe and Report and Paul Blart Mall Cop (2009) Hollywood is an absolute vortex of copying and blatant ripoffs. It's not just movies - it's TV as well. For example: Castle vs. The Mentalist Elementary vs Sherlock NCIS vs. CSI Flip This House vs Flip That House Wife Swap vs Trading Spouses And the lists go on and on (and on). The point is that this is a culture throughout Hollywood. This is another example of this. I pointed it out accurately and factually. I don't think that is "stirring the pot". In fact, in a follow-up post I even discussed how this movie might have been started first.

Can't wait for the dvd to become available!
I saw Tommy Tedesco at GC in San Francisco in the early 80's. He put on a clinic that I've never seen the equal of. Absolutely INCREDIBLE musician!!!! I saw the screening about 6 months ago and it was fabulous. The world owes Denny Tedesco a HUGE debt of gratitude for taking this monumental project on and seeing it to a successful conclusion. WELL DONE, DENNY! |

Please someone tell me it's not true, the sixties, and seventies were a lie, The Monkees didn't play their own music. I 'seen em' at Disneyland, they played their own songs I 'seen em'.. Dolenz, Jones, Boez, and Hart, and joined by Peter Tork. Michael Nesmith was busy being and ***.
Then He agrees to join the others for a reunion, and Davey Jones Dies. Go Figure. Dan |

I'm going to a screening of the film this Friday eve in LA, with some of the original "Crew" appearing too. Looking forward to finally seeing it! I was a Kickstarter contributor to the project, so glad it's finally getting released.

Not NEARLY ENOUGH people have seen this thread yet...
People, if you listened to the radio or any popular music at all during the 60's, this film is about the PLAYERS WHO MADE YOUR DREAMS!!! It's the guitar player's kid (Tommy Tedesco) who made this thing; it's not some big corporation cashing in... THIS is a GREAT cause to support!
