Default American Primitive in Southern states

First post on the forum, didn’t see a spot for players so put it here. Really interesting concert experience last night. Isasa and the Magic Tuber Stringband are finishing a tour. They played in Blacksburg fronted by a couple of local guitarists. The Tubers played first and then Isasa. He did something I had never seen before - playing a steel string dreadnaught in classical style - foot stool and all. He played his own compositions, and while it was easy to detect the Spanish classical influence, he’s a former punk rocker influenced by John Fahey and Robbie Basho. Probably 20 people got to see this superb performance. The Tubers are something else as well - making old time music modern, multi-instrumentalists etc. Isasa finished playing a Weissenborn that I could have sworn was a sitar, accompanied by a Tuber on the harmonium. They play Nashville Tuesday, Birmingham Wednesday, Athens Thursday, Asheville’s Friday, and Durham Saturday. If you’re a fan of American Primitive (funny name since Isasa’s from Madrid via Latin America) you’ll enjoy this concert.

This is right up my alley, and yes, Isasa is quite the picker and composer.
Quite a few of the American Primitive dudes use a footstool, no less than Glenn Jones and Jack Rose, for example.
There are some good clips of Isasa on youtube - look for a channel from user "orthophonix" - lots of wonderful Fahey-inspired picking there.

and I keep meaning to check out Magic Tuber - they just had a release come out on a pal's little cassette label.
