Default Old Martin tuning machine screws.

First post on the forum..so hi all!

I’m looking for the screws that hold the gear and post together on my 1930 Martin 0-17. It’s been without the screw on one machine for way too long and another has a smaller one that works bu isn’t a match for the others. Any idea where I can find ones that fit and are the correct head size/color?

Nothing there as far as I can tell. I do tend to miss things though. I’m not looking for plate mounting screws, I’m looking to the screw that holds the gear on the shaft... it’s a slot head guitar.

I think (Emphasis on think) that they are 4-36x 3/16. Can anyone confirm this?

That is a defunct thread pitch that was used on the old Waverly tuners. I have seen it used on model railroads. Intense Google searching will usually turn some up, though you may have to buy longer ones and cut them off.

If you know some skilled people they might could make you a replacement. Watchmakers (REALLY good ones) are good at making things like screws. Kind of a lost art though so good luck.
