I watched this introduction video on Facebook today but must have missed why its called a “Demon 170”?

Just brutally fast numbers, i couldn't imagine driving one now. But i sure wouldn't send it away!

I live 12 miles from the epicenter of crazy cars. Despite the endless "Supercar" McLarens, Benzes, Jags, BMWs, Porsches, Audis, Maseratis, and "California Volkswagens" ('Vettes) running up and down the coast here, I've always liked the Challengers, Roadrunners and Superbees, and their descendents.

Actually, I prefer my own car over all of those, and the fun thing is that the kids do too

As someone that prefers road course type cars, there is no denying that this thing is awesome.

Yep I’m definitely more into handling than straight line performance, but this car is absolutely bonkers!

Just the fact that a heavy, American muscle can roast just about any factory car out there, pull the front wheels off the ground and maintain a factory warranty makes it pretty cool. Likely the end of the road for these cars so why not go out with a bang.

I read one article where the writer said thankfully these will always be too expensive for a 16 year old kid to purchase. I know if I had this at 16, I would have been dead at 16. I ran my Dodge Dart to 116-117mph until the valves started floating and she was done. I ran my 69 Coronet well past 120mph and it seemed insane. This car makes the most ardent car guys giggle.

Back a few years, I think in 2018, I visited my friend in FL for a long week-end. After arriving at Tampa Intl., Hertz informed me the car I had reserved was unfortunately unavailable, but that an upgrade (at no extra charge) would be. "Not as good on gas mileage", the attendant told me smiling, but they didn't think I'd mind.
Walked over to the slot with my number on it, and there it was: A brand new, white (like the Demon above) Dodge Challenger.
Oh man.
VRROOOMMM, when I started it. Obviously it wasn't as powerful as the one above, but it sure felt like it.
I remember driving over the Sky Bridge on my way to Sarasota, with the windows down on a beautiful spring day, and getting all kinds of thumbs ups from the other cars driving by. I usually leave the rental in my friend's driveway and we use his car when I'm down there, but this time we took this thing everywhere.
What a sweet ride. The most fun driving car I've ever rented. If you ever get a chance to drive one, do it.
A true muscle car. I hope they're able to make them forever.

So true of a lot of experiences in life I can say from my own personal experience ...
There is something in being in extreme speed situations that is very difficult to adequately put into words.
The slowing down of time when you move into being so - "in the moment" with intense concentration once you get over 100 mph in an auto,, or 90 on a motorcycle,, or 60 skiing down a mountain .

Or the absolutely mesmerizing fluid motion of a bunch of sharks circling the bait box on a no cage shark dive
