I'd love to hear you playing a piece on it to properly appreciate all the effort that's gone into it.

Well, I was being specific too about the song. I'm 99.99% sure Eric was playing "Reunion" by Phil Keaggy. I love that song, having had a private concert with Phil back in 1988 and he played it for me and my buddy.

Here's a few youtube vids of a Kostal OM:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhK08M0B4r4

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57F3J...wL6P521ro8BwMa

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EP_YR...6ZFUU03AzTNiJ- (no playing of the guitar on this one)

Not heard/seen any jumbos yet.

Breaking news ... I'll be selling a fair few guitars to help fund ... a Kostal Mod-D. (Cutaway, wedge, probably figured claro walnut/German spruce, custom nut/string spacing). Can't wait. Will of course keep you all posted, though the bulid's not due to start for quite some time.

here is Keaggy''s Reunion on the Kostal. It sounds a little compressed, but just straight from camcorder.

I can't believe how much its opened up since Woodstock. Guitar really sounds better in person

Kostal being versatile....

this was mentioned in another thread and I thought I would post it here.

I mentioned that my Ryan was the most versatile guitar I own and I think that is pretty accurate.

I spoke to Jason about a technique I was using and we talked back and forth about the whys and the hows.

lets try to break it down....

I was playing a few songs on my Kostal for this elderly group and when I was doing some slap harmonics, I felt like it was easier to do on my Ryan.

I'm not talking about artificial harmonics or fretted harmonics, but a slap harmonics like in Hedges Ragamuffin or Keaggy's Reunion or Legacy.

The consensus is that my Ryan has bigger fret wire. When the harmonic is slapped, the bigger fret wire allows the slap to be more percussive.

But everything else on this Kostal is so easy. Much like a spruce guitar feeling like a cedar guitar.

Who knew about the fret wire? but again, I don't always slap a harmonic

More that I probably should! I love the sound of the percussion and the harmonics together...plus, I am a HUGE Keaggy fan! Not to mention Andy McKee and Antoine Dufour do some awesome stuff with the slap harmonics.

awesome! slapping on the kostal is extremely easy, but just not as easy as the bigger frets on the ryan. hows the bashkin?

The Bashkin is opening up nicely, It’s a canon, throwing out that awesome clean sound that Michael’s guitars have with very little effort. Makes an average player like myself sound better!

It’s hard to believe that she’ll be a year old at the end of February.
