First YT fingerstyle original of some quality..?
Hi!
This is my first YT video other than filming myself playing in the living room. I am constantly trying to improve myself, so any feedback is welcome. It's a song called "The Transit Of Venus": http://youtu.be/7mRy1G2lEyc I am going to record my second album this fall. Last edited by Simonsig; 08-13-2015 at 04:33 PM. |

Nice song and playing. As far as the video, outdoor nature videos and studio quality audio sound are rather unconvincing, and this particular video, with the various switches to this and that scene, I find distracting. I would video indoors and keep the focus more on you and the guitar.

Hi! Glad you like the song and playing Rick-slo. About the sound vs outdoor film it did cross my mind.. At the very end you can hear the actual outdoor sound just to understate I know that the sound is added later, I'm not fooling anyone..
But you're right, it is a dilemma trying to make interesting videos when you play solo instrumental stuff. Some artist like Andy McKee have mostly indoor film and concert footage on YouTube, whereas others have heads-on pro videos, like Tommy Emmanuels latest "Blood Brothers", with actors and a story line.. One can dream.. But I will keep your words in mind when I make my next video, maybe not stretch it too far.. Last edited by Simonsig; 08-14-2015 at 05:47 AM. |
