WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD on Lap Steel & Acoustic Guitar
Today is our first full day of mandatory STAY HOME in Tennessee. It's been a long time since I recorded anything, but today I recorded my arrangement of WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD. Just seemed appropriate given the times.
I was playing my 1940 Gibson EH-185 lap steel and my Dell'Arte acoustic. You can get the lap steel transcription/tab and guitar chord changes/voicings I used HERE (just scroll down below the video on that page). Last edited by 815C; 04-04-2020 at 02:52 PM. |

That was fun and different. Thank you for posting.
I'd like to hear more lap steel, which I know next to nothing about. I assume you are in an alternate tuning (tuned open to a chord)? Is your slide solid steel? What kind of fingerpicks do you use, if any? Last edited by lar; 04-06-2020 at 09:56 PM. |

Thanks lar! I hope to video a bunch more lap steel - with better audio. For this one I went direct into my computer from my lap steel. In future vids I'll mic an amp and get much better tone. I've got my lap steel tuned to Leavitt Tuning (C# E G Bb C D low to high). I'm using a solid steel tone bar --> TONE BAR On this tune I was playing "naked" (I was wearing clothes! But no picks - just fingers), but normally I use a thumb pick and two metal finger picks. Last edited by 815C; 04-09-2020 at 12:23 PM. |
