Default Locals Covering Locals

So there's a cool Facebook group here where local musicians cover songs by other local musicians. I thought y'all might like my cover of a friend's song (click through to YouTube for her information).

It's my first time recording and editing my own video, so this was fun.

Gear nerd stuff:

Guitar: 2011 Breedlove American Series C25/SR
Mic: Apogee One
Reverb: Valhalla Vintageverb. Plate.

Ive just listened with my (almost) 4 year old son as he goes to sleep. We both love it! and he can be a harsh Judge, as I’ve learnt to my cost over the years

I Really like the song and it was a great performance. I agree that you’ve got an awesome voice that compliments the guitar. Really pleasing to the ears!

High midwinter, really enjoyed your song and admire your dexterity regardless of the absence of your left hand.

Got me interested in that instamorph too - I wonder if it could be made into ordinary picks?

Looking forward to more of your videos!

Thanks! You gotta trust the children!

It’s such a great tune.

I would imagine the instamorph is too brittle to be much use. The picks I make last one or two shows. We’ve experimented with materials—one of which was so hard it literally chewed through the winding of my g string while on the road in Tahoe a few years ago!

But—I save them once they get worn down. When I have about 5, I take the used ones and cut a slot where the “pick” part is and cut the tip off a Jim Dunlop yellow pick and superglue it in the slot.

If I don’t screw up the angle, those picks last months instead of just a few gigs.

Just waiting on it to warm up again! It's supposed to snow tonight.

But! My band and I have tons of videos online, both on YouTube and Facebook.
