Default ARK New Era Maurer 000-12, Adi and Koa Style 8

I'm running out of space . . . correction I have run out of space . . . for guitars in my house. Up for sale is my like-new New Era Maurer, built by Tony Klassen. For those of you that are initiated in the Larson style, this guitar is built in the Larson tradition "under tension" with laminated braces.

The Maurer is approximately 000 in shape and is, of course, a 12 fret guitar. It's decorated in the very cool and fancy Style 8 motif with the out-of-sight cloud pick guard.

This particular guitar is built with a non-adjustable carbon reinforced neck to minimize the weight. The relief as perfect and the neck hasn't budged.

Specs:

Design: 000-12 Larson style with laminated braces
Top: Adirondack spruce
Back and sides: Koa
Neck: Mahogany with carbon rod
Scale: 25.5"
Nut: 1 3/4"
Saddle: 2 1/4"
Bridge and fingerboard: Ebony
Frets: EVO 55090
Case: Ameritage

Edit: I had forgotten that Tony wanted to increase the depth of the guitar a bit from his standard depth to improve the overall tone. It was his call, so I didn’t protest. So the depth at the heel is 3 1/2” and the depth at the tail block is 4 1/8”.

It's a featherweight at 3 lbs 11 oz. Building started in 2019 and was completed in 2020.

What a cool guitar! There was an Ark New Era at Fur Peace Ranch when I was there a couple of years ago. My favorite guitar of all that were there. The last evening at Fur Peace, Woody Mann played it for about 1/2 hour. Just knocked everybody over. There was a single person there who wasn’t wishin they could play that guitar just like that. Can’t imagine somebody is going to be anything but thrilled with this.

Thumbs up Lovely guitar - GLWTS

Juston,

This is a great guitar and seller. Wish I could. Definitely drool-worthy.

How does it compare with the Montuoro we both let slip through our hands?

GLWTS...

It’s killer. Maybe a bit mellower on the attack than the Montuoro, but it’s been so long since I’ve played that guitar!

Hope you’re well!

Oh my!

I haven’t bought a guitar in several years and thought my GAS was cured and now you’ve gone and posted this.

Beautiful guitar. You can't go wrong with this one. I've owned 5 of Tony's guitars over the years, on the list next year for another build.

Really don’t remember the model. I remember the individual who brought it sat next to me in our session a day or two. Nice guy who could play. Maybe from North Carolina? Thinking he bought one that was commissioned and returned and became available for an unexpected price? It was a pretty large guitar with a big sound - especially in contrast to the Santa Cruz PJ I had with me. It was a very unique guitar. Wonderful. Would make me think about buying this one if I were positioned to buy a guitar in this price range.

Smile Holy Smokes

The Larson Bros built so many different models. They rarely copied themselves and were always stretching... This BOSS copy of one is sure a beauty!

Best on the sale!!!

Someone will be thrilled

Stay vigilant and play pretty

Paul

I have one of Tony's Stefan Grossmann B&D Senorita S6's, which I really love. I wish I could afford this right now because I have no doubt it's fantastic.
