Rocketman
Anyone go see the new movie?
We went yesterday. I liked it but at the same time was a little let down... Can't really put my finger on why? |

I haven't seen it yet, but from the previews, I was left a bit disappointed by the music quality.
Elton John music has some of the most dynamic sounds and rhythms in music, and the sounds I hear from the movie sounded like bad covers. Ed

I'm surprised they didn't just lip sync over the originals.
I don't think I've ever heard a cover of a song from The Beatles or Elton John that was better than the original. Last edited by Tico; 06-07-2019 at 11:26 PM. |

I saw it. I liked it. A different approach to the biopic and an enjoyable approach at that. It seemed to me that John told some of the tougher aspects of his life relatively unvarnished and used the "musical" structure of the movie to make that more palatable to the movie goer. It has its dark moments to be sure.
Not your typical biopic. 4 thumbs up from me.
