Absolutely gorgeous Jon! That might be the nicest set of Mahogany I’ve ever seen anywhere. Also attractive that it has the bigger neck with 1 3/4 nut and 2 5/16 string spacing. Most are not made this way.

GLWS!

Beautiful dread! How would you compare it to a similar Martin, maybe
A custom D18 with similar nut width? Thanks
RJ

Hi RJ. I own one of these 1934D in the same Adi/Hog configuration. It is the finest guitar I have ever owned, bar none. The only Martin that can come close is my D-18A 1937, but the sound profile is different. A standard, non-Authentic series D-18 should not be compared with a 10k guitar like this.

Not well known is the fact that Santa Cruz dreads are dimensionally smaller than a dread from Martin, Collings, H&D, and Bourgeois among others. The 1934D is in fact 3/8” shallower at the neck AND tail, measuring 3.5” and 4.5” deep respectively, compared with a Martin and the others above at 3.875” and 4.875.” This makes for a super comfortable guitar with the still big sound we expect from a dread.

There is a thread I did a couple months back comparing my 1934D to the D-18A 1937. Out of respect for the OP, I will not link it here, but you can search under my name for threads started and you will find it.

The finest guitar I have ever played, the 1934D.
