They sure are, at least in my case.

Never had another cigarette after that...
27 years for me, and I used all three dosages of the patch. 2nd best conscious decision I ever made.

Still married to number one!

I was literally standing in the store, with the lower dosage package in my hand, when I realized I didn't need them. Buying them would've been a complete waste of money.

I was done...

I too had the sense that my final quit was "easy" in that I'd gotten mad and stubborn and never once faced what seemed like a temptation to smoke.

Getting to that final quit is the challenge smokers face. When I hear people say they are "trying" to quit it seems clear how that is going to end.

I applaud all those that quit. Smoking killed my dear mother, and most of my aunts and uncles. I am thankful I never started smoking.

It was 1985 for me and my wife. Lost my Mom and her Dad the summer of '84 about six weeks apart from heart related issues. It was enough for both of us. Congrats to ll who have quit...I'm convinced it's the single biggest thing you can do to improve and prolong your life.

That's a significant point. Still, a tremendous achievement.

I've been a smoker for 20 years now and have been wanting to quit ever since I started. Biggest mistake of my life.
Reading these comments is giving me some inspiration.
