Default New Woolson OM

Back in April of last year I started a thread looking for an OM sized ladder braced guitar to mostly play ragtime finger style guitar. I finally contacted Paul Woolson who made my favorite all around guitar an LG model (OO). He said he would love to take a shot at it. After some discussion he came up with a different ladder bracing concept. I wanted a guitar made of White Oak and he suggested black walnut trim, a double top of Adi on the outside and Lutz on the inside. I also wanted a short scale 24.75", wide neck 1 13/16" nut and 12 frets and tall wide frets. He also wanted to do a raised finger board. The ladder bracing pattern he came up with is two longitudinal braces that angle like an easel with the 3 cross braces.
This came out better than I could have imagined ... like he could read my brain
Here are his professional pictures:

Here is a xmas song I did last night. My apologies to Irving Berlin.

I had a great time with Paul in Italy last fall. Great to see new work and it sounds just fine too.

Very, very cool! Thanks for sharing your guitar with us.

I'm also a fan of the LG.

Congratulations Bill and Paul. It sounds great. I’m glad you took a chance on White Oak, it’s a great tonewood.

Hi Paul. I thought you'd dropped out/taken a break until now.

Nah - he's probably having to work twice as hard to work off those fine italian meals he gets -

;-)

Congrats, Bill. I have played several fine Woolson guitars over the years. This one looks fabulous.

Best,
Jayne

Hey Bill,
You don't need to apologize to Irving Berlin. Your arrangement of White Christmas and your playing sound just fine. You do your new Woolson real justice.
Congratulations on your wonderful new guitar and, if I may take the liberty, congratulations to Paul Woolson for producing an absolute gem!

I'm curious, what does the "double top" accomplish that a single top couldn't? Is it just two top flavors? Like if you did a double top of the same wood, would there be a reason to do it?
