Default Using Velcro with rubber backed pedals

How are you guys using Velcro on pedals with a hard rubberized base plate? I can never get the Velcro to adhere. Boss pedals are one example but there are others too.

This looks to have the answer you seek...
Dual Lock Tape

I pull the rubber part off the Boss pedals, prep the surface with alcohol wipes and use industrial strength Velcro 2x4 strips.

Defacing pedals and pedal boards to get Velcro to stick isn’t always something I want to do. That’s when zip ties are the answer. Secure and easily removed without any gummy residue to pedal or board.

I've used zip ties and velcro on my pedal boards over the years. Strong velcro ripped the rubber base off my Ibanez TS9DX when I tried to remove the pedal. I saved the rubber base though and put it back on.

As mentioned, you can try zip ties, even if it's only for a couple of pedals while your other pedals use velcro.

Take the rubber off. A seldom - mentioned reason is the mess created the first time you get into a hot environment.

I use a pedal board made by Guitto. No Velcro, no zip ties needed. The pedals attach with a clever system of hard plastic fasteners that are anchored in a channel below the board surface. Works amazingly well and is more secure than any Velcro I've ever used. Quick and easy to move things around and it's very well made. I now have two of the medium size, and I'm never going back to Velcro. You can get them on Amazon.

I also just take the rubber off

Also I took the advice from "That Pedal Show"

And use the fuzzy loop part from a heavy duty 2 in wide velcro roll
Put full width strips of the loop on the pedalboard stringers

Then use two short (2") strips, of the a dual lock (Jim mentioned )

With one strip on the top end of the back of pedal, and one on the bottom

What this does is,,,,, the pedals sit securely BUT if you go to move or replace one you can simply roll it from one side and it will come off without lifting the loop strip off the pedal board

Legend Blue = full width fuzzy part velcro ,,,, Yellow = the Dual Lock strips ,,,, Red= have the pedal span two stringers on pedalboard works great ......
