I followed the guidance from this forum post that has images: https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/...=482240&page=5 The key is the split/pan. I use a DPA 4061 mic. I have tried IRs. I have a K&K SBT as well, but I haven’t found an IR that can tonally match the mag/mic combo (yet). I like with the stomp I can have presets for all the scenarios to test and compare. |

I read all your answer and I think I don’t understand well what you say. Why LR Baggs m1 or m80 or other body sensitive pick-up sound bad with overdrive sound? Cause feedback ? Their capacity to capture body vibrations? General specifications? Many people says they are feedback resistance. I play at home alone with baking track or song through pc and Hx Stomp with monitor, but often I use headphones, so I think feedback should be a minimal problem for me. |

My suggestion is to invest into a decent guitar instead of trying to make the Epiphone sound better with a pickup system that in the end is going to cost more than the guitar.
Get a serious instrument and the pre installed system will quite do. Best i have heard is maton ap5, but the martin's fishman matrix sounds incredibly good too. |

You’re right but unfortunately I haven’t this possibility. Needs to know that I play only at home alone with backing track on pc and occasionally I record my session. So I don’t need a professional system. Next day I have the guitar and try the effect of acoustic ir on sound of stock piezo Fishman Sonitone , that I don’t like as the other piezo in general. Mason or similar system are on high other level but all are out of budget. |

Paying for a pickup system is a waste of money on that guitar. Save for a decent instrument in the future! Do not expect by any mean to record a sound resembling an acoustic guitar with a pickup on an instrument that can be bought used for 100 dollars.. |

I’ll must thinking well about this question, but maybe I have found a second hand Seymour Duncan Mag mic. Before buy it I’ll try ir for recording with stock pick-up @Ten Thank for link I’ll read guide by attention. Original DPA is too expensive for me . Can you suggest an alternative less expensive? |

The out of phase nature makes them quite feedback resistant when played through a PA or clean at high volumes. If you add gain/overdrive to them though, they tend to sound thin and howl on certain frequencies. They might work for you at low volumes. At this rate though, you'll only know what you like when you try it for yourself.

@ QuestionMark
Thanks Do you use occasionally some overdrive sound example with slide? Had you some problem cause by not adjustable pole on magnetic pick-up to adapt better to strings ? |

Electrify acoustic guitar: experience and suggests
When I use a slide, I do not use any effects other than the slide itself and the pickup. FYI. I use a metal slide.
Without the slide I have on occasion used a chorus pedal. Unless I am using my full sound system, I generally use a gain pedal with or without slide. On my amp, I usually just use the instrument setting with a little bit of reverb. Although, it works fine if I were to use some of effects on the amp. I keep the soundhole pickup’s cord hanging out from there the soundhole. That enables me to switch the pickup to different guitars with it not being permanently installed. Although I own three of the Fishman Rare Earth Humbucker sound hole pickups, so some usually stay on the guitar they are on, but I own a lot of guitars so I like to be able to move the pickup to whatever guitar I choose when I choose. I use Martin 80/20 Bronze strings on all of my guitars. No problem ever with the Fishman Rare Earth Humbucker pickup with them. Hope this helps. I read the Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive MOD is a top choice for giving the acoustic a believable electric sound.
Haven't tried it as I'm seeking more of a synth pad pedal . |

Update
Maybe I have occasion to buy a second hand Schertler BasiK set It’s good solution and quality with no feedback problem If necessary I could buy a “like vintage “ magnetic in the future for occasionally use with overdrive like: Recording king gold foil De Armond Tone boss (Guild) Gretsch Deltoluxe ( based on old De Armond pick-up) Victory tradition ( USA hand made € Am I crazy ?
