A Virtuoso Is His Own Reward, Crow River Waltz, Sailor’s Grave On The Prairie, Watermelon, and A Trout Towards Noon are all in my repertoire and relatively easy to play compared to some of Leo’s pieces. I have to admit that I don’t play them exactly like him and usually adjust to my own style.

My current repertoire that pretty much fits into that category, none of which am I near full Leo level, but I can make it all the way through more or less:
Red and White Anyway In Christ There is No East or West Sail Away Ladies LSET Ojo Crow River Waltz The Sailor's Grave on the Prairie VMG Jack Fig Watermelon Jesu Busted Bicycle The Brain of Purple Mountain Little Martha (more the Dwayne version with parts of Leo's) Currently in process, but still a long ways off: Owls San Antonio Rose, etc. Medley Stealing Snorkle And a bunch of similar by Peter Lang |

The Ice Miner is another good suggestion - I actually have it in a book, Pioneers of American Folk Guitar. I'm a week or so into my tussle with Ojo and I have the fingerings and mechanics of the main theme/A part pretty much down - now it's just the simple matter of fitting them together, making them flow and then getting the whole thing up to speed...
I may be some time yet Angus

When I was in high school, I went to a party at my college brother’s off-campus house. (It was the first time I heard Blue, as I recall.) Eventually, someone put on a Leo Kottke solo album. I dropped everything and listened intently to every note. I remember asking, who are those guys?
