No, if you look closely you'll see that some of his fingers are in the way.

I assume your joking. Anyway picture looks like some kind of promo shot. The item is for string height measurements.
Here's the whole kit:

My daughter goes to bed with a ruler to measure how long she sleeps, so maybe he's measuring how long he's played guitar.

Is the headstock connected to the neck? I would have to see another angle. Could be an odd juxtaposition.

Good point!

Okay, my second guess is that it's a sample of some guy's work as a hand model. Real guitar techs don't have such well-groomed fingernails.

Lots of funny responses. But I’m going to guess that the person has a system to measure the string length so as to have the optimal amount of wraps around the tunner post.

I do something like that but with my fingers. Don’t think I would a take pic as a promotion.

I'm going to check my headstocks . . . let's see my tele has no angle. My Gibson is 11 degrees.... I'll remove my clip on tuner before measurements.
No no, you misunderstand, if you play with the tuner on then you must take measurements with it on.

It's definitely a promo shot - that's the kit I was looking at on Amazon. You'd think that the manufacturer would want to show the items being used as they should be - not like this!

This is what happens when marketing "experts" don't know anything about the product and the product's target market. They end up making the makers and resellers of the product look like idiots.

I believe that's Denny Zager applying a coat of magic dust, turning a $300 guitar into one valued conservatively at $2K.

Didn't escape me - looks silly.
I have one of those stewmac gauges - the detail the side that he is looking at is a measurement conversion chart.
