Froggy Bottom - truss rod
Relatively new Froggy owner here....and wondering if anyone has adjusted the truss rod on a FB before. I read a previous post saying it's a 5/16 hex nut, but from looking in the soundhole towards the heel, I can't seem to locate where it is. Anyone have any knowledge they can share? Any pics would be helpful too.
Thanks so much. |

I've found Froggy Bottom to be quite responsive to questions both via email and phone calls. I recommend you call them or email them.

My Gibson wrench works perfect on my Froggy.
Loosen your strings and stick your hand behind the upper sound hole brace and you will feel it. |

I appreciate the feedback. Will send an email to Michael just to make sure I do it correctly. And good to know the Gibson wrench would work.

You can also use an inspection or telescoping mirror to see it without having to loosen all of the strings.

On my FBs, it's right outside of the neck block, pretty close to the underside of the soundboard. The images are from FBs website.

Michael advised me to use a 5/16 open ended wrench. Buy one of the double ended ones at the hardware store and cut it in half on a grinding wheel or hack saw; and throw away the box end. You can loosed the G & D strings and fit your hand inside the sound hole, leaving some tension on the neck while you adjust — if you like.
