Default Marlboro Points Guitar

We talk about them every so often on this forum, so here is what one sounds like.

Recorded on my iPhone at the Hotel Danza Del Sol, Ajijic, Mexico using the iPhone mic only.

My wife grandparents were big smokers and were super into collecting those points. We have a bunch of Marlboro crap around still. Towels, sleeping bags, totes, etc. In fact just yesterday I restrung my Blueridge on one of our old Malboro towels.

Love that song. Your voice suits it very well. The guitar sounds nice.

No one knows. Someone in China, that’s all we know for sure. Maybe several someones. There is a mythology that Martin had something to do with them but that is not true. I’ve compared it side by side with my D-28 and there are enough detail differences to tell that they were not made from Martin parts or anything like that. They are useable Martin copies, and with a good setup will surprise you with their sound and playability.

I don’t think you can get a good look in the video, but I put “CF Marlboro” on the peghead because I was tired of explaining to people what it was.
