Yeah, it looks great....
 . There is certainly a subtle touch remaining near the center seam and along the end block end of the top, but it is quite minor and has the finish darkens with time, it will be even less distinct. I didn’t go into this set expecting milk toast, aesthetic perfection, but 50+ year old acoustic perfection that was selected by Nick Kukich and Jeff Elliott decades ago... Quote:

Well the application of nitrocellulose lacquor is complete. There won’t be much going on for the next few weeks as the finish dries...

Bob, we were at Nick & Jeanne's last night for dinner and I got a good look at your OMC. It is looking great. The GS top turned out nice with the finish and the purfling and rosette are beautiful. The finish on the CM back and sides really brought out the grain/figuring. The neck is a natural color match. Looking forward to hearing it. Another very special one of a kind OM from Nick.
Enjoying my BRW/GS OM-it's opening up nicely and smooth as silk to play.

. Was the guitar at Nick’s shop or house? Like the space shuttle during reentry, I am currently in the “blackout” zone right now until early February when the build process will resume. Along with buffing it out, fretboard inlay, bridge, nut, and saddle construction and set up all remain to be done.Quote:

Polishing the Nitrocellulose Lacquer finish with abrasive. The curly figure in the back and sides begins to reveal itself.
 Onward to the buffing wheel (don’t drop it!)  Inlaying the Abalone diamonds and squares position markers into the Ebony fretboard.  Fitting the bolt-on neck to the body.  Beginning to get a sense of the curl figure in this Hawaiian Cuban Mahogany, the excellent color match of the old Honduran Mahogany neck blank that Nick selected and the beautiful Brazilian Rosewood peghead veneer.

Looking great Bob, can you imagine the feeling of getting that far along and having that buffing wheel grab it out of you hands and send it to the floor. Man oh man. I think Tim M. might have told a story about that happening once if I recall.
