Default 1995 Taylor 812c Specs?

I was fortunate enough to find a very nice used one today. I wondered if there is a way to find the specs on it anywhere? I am mainly looking for the scale length... it plays very easy so I am think its SS but wanted to know for sure.

Any opinions or advice is welcomed as well. I'm thinking this is one of the "sought after" ones... I can see why.

Ok, I’ll give you the only specs I know seeing as how I own an 1995 800 series. Awesome build quality, Awesome neck, Awesome playability, Awesome tone! Yep, just AWESOME overall!! . Mine does have an 1 11/16” nut and it’s a standard scale. I would call Taylor and give them the serial number and they’ll be able to help you.

Here's an old Reverb.com advertisement that has the specs.

Have you tried measuring it for yourself?

I have a Taylor 412e-R, the 'R' standing for Rosewood. Kind of a no frills version of an 812. Has a short scale and gets a lot playtime. Sounds best when not played too loudly.

Some of Taylor's early/mid '90s GC models had 25.5" scale. eg:
https://reverb.com/item/11043887-1994-taylor-812-c so 1994 apparently is the longer scale.

Easy enough to measure from the fretboard edge of the nut to the soundhole edge of the saddle on the D/G strings. It'll be one or the other.

12th fret is harmonic note for half the string length. Measure along any string from nut to 12th fret and double the result to get the scale length.

Calling Taylor can get the answer too, as long as you have the serial number.

From the 1998 Taylor catalog:

Scale length = 25 1/2 inches
Nut width = 1 3/4 inches (812/814; 810 was 1 11/16)
Body width = 15 inches
Body length = 19 1/2 inches
Body depth = 4 1/8 inches
Overall length = 40 1/2 inches

Hope that helps,
Clive
