Default “Free Fallin’”

My 10 year old and I cover Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin’”, using the John Mayer version as a starting place. I’m playing my 1997 612C Taylor, and my Loar mandolin, and my kid is playing a Taylor Mini E Bass, and a Taylor Mini (mahogany). This was fun to put together - enjoy!

Love it! The kid sounds great! Wish my son and I could have done this type of thing, but he was a jazz head and played sax and I'm not a jazz guy. You should both be proud!

Excellent! Not only a great sound, but how good must it be to make music with your son?? (Or daughter.)
My son plays a bit but sadly has little interest in making music with his old man!
I look forward to hearing more from you both.
May I ask what software you used to make the video?
Regards, Dave

Sounds great. You'll have to invite the forum members to your concert tours once you hit the big venues.

Thanks Dave! Yeah, we started making these videos when quarantine started back in March - it’s fun to do, and so far, my kid doesn’t mind playin with the old man! Plus, it helps him to improve on guitar, and to get a feel for recording.

I use Movavi video editor plus - it’s really easy to use, which is what I needed. I just got it a few months ago and I’m still getting the hang of it, but it’s fun to learn. When we first started, I just used iMovie on my phone, but it’s kinda limited. Anyway, there are many options out there for video editing.

Yep, I’m so glad that he seems to really dig music. It’s special. I’ll look back on these videos one day, and be really glad that we did them.
