I’d be lying if I said that Martin’s storied legacy — and that documentary in particular — didn’t have at least a small impact on my choice to get a D-18 a couple years ago.

In the end, I chose the D-18 over similar guitars from other brands and builders on its own merit, but I did feel like I was claiming my own very very small share of American musical history by adding my name to the list of countless others who have owned a Martin dreadnought over the last century.
