I'm sampling different string sets with my new Dupont MCC30--So far I think I like the Knobloch CX carbons the best, I prefer a hard tension and the mediums in these seem to be as stiff as the hards I've tried in the other brands. Not sure if I want to sample the hard tension in the CX's or not? I still have a couple of other brands that I'm auditioning too.

At home I have a high tension packet waiting to be put on my guitar so I'll be able to compare. My personal guitar currently has Hannabach Goldin. They have a nice feel and are a bit more flexible than the other carbon strings I have played of similar tension. The Goldin's have nice tension across the trebles. I hate sets that have a 1st string with a tension that is out of balance with the 2nd and 3rd strings (Savarez Alliance, Daddario carbons).

Here is another interesting set I might try soon. Total tension is 115lbs, that is only 12lbs more than the string I have been using for years (Hannahback 815 super high tension at 102.1lbs) and these are made of phosphor bronze material.

Why not just try the Thomastik Infeld KF110 set, which are steel strings made for a classical guitar.

Sorry, I think this thread has been round and resurfaced and I'd forgotten.
How about Newtone heritage strings 10-43: https://newtonestrings.com/shop/heri...stic-6-string/

Hmm, interesting. I might have to give those a try as well. I like to tinker with stuff so this is as much of that as it is anything. I strung the Taylor up with the Optimas today and I am not imoressed at all. I will give them a few days to settle in for a final judgment.
