Default BB King tribute - Thrill is Gone

BB King had an oversized influence on my playing, starting when I was a college student. I got a copy of "Live at Cook County Jail" and was mesmerized. These days I spend more time with acoustic than electric guitars. Trying to do justice to one of BB's classics with an acoustic guitar seemed like a good challenge. "The Thrill is Gone" gradually morphed into something unrecognizable here, but I had fun with it anyway! Thanks for listening and I always enjoy any feedback or suggestions for improvement

That was GREAT! Loved it. What do you mean, "unrecognizable"?

So tasteful... very well done! I loved how you set the tone and everything kinda flowed. And you don't feel the need to fill all the silence... perfect! The only problem here is that you don't post more often.

Thanks a bunch for sharing... that was fantastic.

Awesome performance. I'll admit that I opened the YouTube link with some trepidation but it you really nailed it. Your playing is great and the dynamic range you pull out of the guitar is pretty amazing. Post something else.

Wow, Larry! Very nice, very well done! I love the dynamics you get in there!

I was trying to imagine an instrumental of BB King's "The Thrill Is Gone" before I listened, yet I just couldn't quite hear it my head at all. Now that I've heard your performance, it totally works! It works so well, I now have it stuck in my head!

Cool!

Kerbie, thanks so much for your encouragement (now and in the past) and your nice words! BB's music is so iconic that I wasn't sure how this would be received. I'll try to post more

Napman, thanks so much for listening and commenting. I really appreciate your words. And I understand your initial trepidation! I had some as well in trying to do this.

Glenn, thank you so much for your comments! It's quite a compliment if I stuck something in your head! Your great recordings have spent plenty of time stuck in mine

I've heard BB live many times, and you certainly captured the spirit of his playing here. He'd be proud and smiling, I'll bet. Let us hear more, that was excellent.

It's as if BB and SRV had a kid and it ended being an acoustic guitar. Great arrangement.

Wauv
That really captured the song in a new and different way.
I absolutely loved it.

That creates quite a visual! I wonder if those two ever played together? Thanks Dave for your comment!
