Default Two original songs. This time, finally, a video of my partner in music and myself.

Spurred on by fellow members of this great site, I convinced my friend Peter to try and make a a couple of videos.

It was great fun, it took forever, of course, many, many false starts, almost complete takes, then a stumble, etc.
It's hard work to play live like this..

Eventually we got two songs in the bag. Both with a few minor flaws, but we ran out of time, patience and memory on the camcorder..

The first is a blues song we wrote, with a nice groove to it, and Peter is rocking a slide. He didn't bring his Resonator guitar, but it sound nice nonetheless:

This next song is a love song to the goddess of spring (among other things), that I wrote in the cold winter, longing for some warmth, in more ways than one...

Both songs are available on our SoundCloud page, in more elaborate versions, but I really like the intimacy of a setting like this.

Hi TallDrink,

Very nice job! I really enjoyed hearing the two guitars!

I particularly liked your Persiphone song! Very nice, well written song, and very pleasant guitar accompaniment! Both songs sounded very good!

It is surprising how much time it takes to get a video take that a person's willing to put up in public. As you have noted, a lot of false starts or little glitches before you get there. It's certainly a challenge!

I love all of your songs, and it's especially nice to actually see you guys in performance.

Thank you so much for all the hard work that went into this.

I think you said before that you are not professionals or well-known, but I don't see any reason that you couldn't be, if you want to be.

I encourage you to go out and perform; people will thank you for it.

Hi Glenn
Thank you for listening.

Yes, that's a song I'm very proud of myself.

What's funny about songwriting, for the writer, is that in the process, the song can change fundamentally.
That song was, in its infancy, written to be a crooner song.. I had a period where I was inspired very much by Richard Hawley, who is a modern and fantastic crooner and guitarist.

After presenting the song to Peter, he put his fingerprints on it, added the B-part and the last verse, (which is the best verse in my mind), and the song morphed into the acoustic ballad it now is.

I still have the recording I made on my phone the day the idea came to me, but that's not something anyone will release to the public..

And you're right on the money on the pressures of filming playing live.
I thought it was hard when I did it alone, but it's twice as hard with two people, more errors, different opinions on what, or how many errors is acceptable, if any.
And in the end, tiredness creeps in which can kill the creativity and performance.

It's a delicate balance, but it's also tremendous fun.

Thank you so much for showing your interest.

Hi LWSOG

Thank you for listening and taking the time to comment!
It means the world, especially coming from an accomplished musician as yourself.
If you're jealous of my songwriting skills, I can tell you that I'm jealous of your chops as a blues guitarist!
Your version of the BB King classic, The Thrill is Gone, is fantastic!

Thank you so much Steve,
Your comments mean more than you know.

Personally, I really want to perform live much more, and maybe in the end, I will, in this constellation or another, but I do suffer from stage fright, and I also would very much perform with Peter in our duo.

It's also hard to find common ground in doing the necessary work to get there, (not musically, that's not a problem), time constraints, promoting ourselves, legwork in general, and finding time to practice.

Peter has less spare time than me, and maybe the desire to get out there is greater on my part, which is okay, but it is a bit difficult for me at times.

Thank you again, for showing such enthusiasm for our efforts!
