Clearly you didn't need a second X20 for a beater, but at least now you have a spare.

Congrats!
Emerald's trans amber is my favorite.

The reason I ask this is that RainSong guitars will, at best, be flat across the top but most often will have a bit of concaveness.
The X20's top has a pretty dramatic radius.

Maybe Alistair will chime in, but I think the radius was an ergonomic choice rather than for strength--the X20 feels rock solid, and has the thickest CF top I've seen (though no bracing).

I suspect the slight arch enhances the tension and hence the projection of the instrument. That's a guess on my part.

Now that you have two X20s, there's no excuse to keep them in the same tuning.

Time to get into some Hawaiian slack key, or Irish DADGAD, or Delta blues!

I saw this post and was a little nervous opening it. You had me worried.
Im glad you are enjoying both guitars so much.
Our guitars do have a Convex radius across the top but are built flat from top to bottom running in line with the neck. Under tension you can see a little bit of push down in front of the bridge where the radius flattens out but it shouldn't be excessive.
This configuration gives extra stiffness to the top without having to brace it too much.

Default Nice Mug!

Alistair sent me one, too, codecontra! Isn't he the BEST? While your mug is keeping beer cold, mine is holding some warm Gluhwein. Perfect on this frigid Ohio night while I cuddle up to my gorgeous PURPLE birthday X7!

The custom color strikes me very much like the amber of your beautiful X20. Ubderstated in some light, audacious in others.

Emeralds! Just gotta buy 'em!

Ohio;

Nice mug, and nice mug-shot of the guitar. The coloring of the guitar is unique and you describe it well. It looks like many years of joy to me. Congratulations!
