If intro can refer to the vocalist, I'd probably go with Ella Fitzgerald's intro into "Duke's Place" with Duke Ellington at The Stockholm Concert in 1966. Occurs at the 48-second mark...

My first thought for acoustic guitar was Closer to the Heart, Rush and thick as a Brick, Jethro Tull.

But one of my favourite intros ever is this by Genesis (this from a Steve Hackett tour) which also contains my favourite guitar solo ever so it's a winner all round for me.
