Gig bag option for Rainsong CH-WS?
I need a gig bag for my CH-WS. The combination of the Auditorium body size and short scale make me think this guitar would swim around in a dreadnought bag but is slightly bigger than what would fit in a classical bag. I sent Rainsong an email, but was wondering if anyone had found a good bag that fits these? Looking for something in the $50 range, like the Gator 4G bags.

I don't think a WS would "swim" in a dreadnought bag; the WS isn't a small guitar by any means. It's got a narrower waist than a DR, for sure, and a cutaway. But besides that, they are very similar in size: 19.5" vs. 20" body length, 15.8" vs. 16" lower bout, both 5" deep. It's about the same size as some companies' "Grand Symphony" guitars, if that gives you any comparison. And many of those companies use their dreadnought cases interchangeably with those GS-sized guitars.

Heard back from Dave at Rainsong. Access makes a “small bodied” guitar bag that fits the WS. I’ll be getting one of those.

I have an access that I used with my WS....no issues at all. Good bags.

I use my access “small bodied” guitar bag for both the Shorty and the WS-1000. The WS is a bit snug but no problems with it fitting in or zipping. Good choice.

The Road Runner Boulevard Series dreadnought gig bag (available at Guitar Center) costs $60.00 and it is great, rugged and fits the CH-WS of my son like a glove.

Could you be more specific as to which Access is a good fit for the CH-WS...

From Dave at Rainsong-
Hello Matt, Thank you for contacting us and congratulations on your new RainSong. We have not done much in the way of research on gig bags but here is a link to the company that makes our cases. They have a couple of options and their SA1 size is what we use with the WS and OM bodies for our hard cases. https://www.accessbagsandcases.com/p...ic-guitar-bag/ https://www.accessbagsandcases.com/p...uitar-gig-bag/ Let me know if you have any other questions. Kind regards, Dave

I'm not exposing an expensive guitar to the risks of a gig bag if I can avoid it.
Gig bags might be ok for short local jaunts, but I want a proper hard case otherwise. Thus my Chimaera will probably never leave the state. If I fly or drive any distance, I'll take a Rainsong in a proper hard case.
