This time I've recorded Jack Johnson's "Upside Down" ...
This was one of the first songs I've learned how to play on guitar but I didn't feel comfortable to sing it... Now I kinda feel.. So there is it :

Nice job! I play songs off this record to my kids. A pretty good album considering it is children's music!

First of all, nice job on the Jack Johnson song.

I do have a problem with the comment about children's music though. I hope that you were joking when you said that. Children's music is what I do for a living and I find it offensive that some people find it a less than legitimate form of music. I would argue that this song happens to be a Johnson song that was used in a children's movie.

If we classify this a children's music, then you have to add "All Star" to the list as it was used in the movie Shrek. Not to mention the other pop songs that they used.

Children's music is a legitimate genre of music. If it wasn't, why is there a category for it for the Grammy's? I find no difference between music for children and anything else that is recorded. Good Music is Good Music. It doesn't matter what style it is.

Nice job, Roger. Jack Johnson's tunes are not easy to play, and you did it pretty well!

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks sir ! I like to play Jack's songs, but I didn't feel comfortable to play and sing it at the same time before..
Now I feel better with it.

partyofone
thanks, man..
And I really think bajawatt means to say that it was a Jack song used in a children's movie..

kscobie8

Good work. Im a really big JJ fan, in particular his first 3-4 albums. The last two didnt do it for me as much when started introducing electric guitar to his songs.

I thougth you did this song very well, i would jsut suggest dont hesitate to add more 'percusive clicks' as thats a signature style of JJ and gives his songs that relaxed, cool vibe ..

Well done !
