Smile I like the Eye

Anyone else dig the eye??? I vote to let it be…. Maybe use a one-off pyramid shaped label just below the eye!

What an axe. Fortunately, John must wait for the return of MY new body before he can move much more forward on MINE. It it is always worth the wait from Tony! So this beauty is not slowing my build down. Hahahahahaha

This is looking spectacular

Paul

The eye is a little scary to look at, I must say! I do want to try the guitar, though. Eye or not, it will be a great guitar!

I have this hi-tech bending pipe for bending the soundport lining. You can see my aged hand holding a strip of copper backing behind which is a strip of bubinga. I use this set up because my normal electric bending Iron's radius is too large. This propane job actually heats up lots faster than electric benders.

Everyone has their own soundport style. For this box I'm keeping it simple. I was inspired by watching a home building show where they were making a stone countertop with water fall ends. The look is c lean and simple with the countertop turning abruptly down to form a seamless support. Here there is no purfling to mark a change in the wood, just more of t he same wood falling inward to make a shallow t ube. I wish I could have mitered that joint.

Thanks Dennis. A little validation on what I FEEL like is a little out of the norm helps ease my mind😅

Default A view from the white room

These wheels are grinding slowly along but they do grind fine.

Hoping to get this back soonish.
