Sweet! Like RP, haven’t seen one in decades, haven’t coaxed a car around a track since I was in my teens.

In the early 70's I got into going to a local shop that had some big tracks - lots of fun running those Riggins cars around that. Mostly did HO, but sometimes 1/32.

Early 1960's track nearby was called 'Tom Thumbs'.

I had a brilliant track as a youth in England - instead of the ubiquitous 1/32 Scalextric, I had a 1/40th scale setup made by Champion. My dad, the great enabler, persuaded me to go that way so that we could build a better layout in my bedroom.

It was great fun. One of my fondest childhood memories is racing on that track.

I built an AMT 1966 Mclaren Elva that I raced down at the local track. Mine didn't look quite this nice, especially after a few runs!

I love it! My brother and I had one of those when we were kids. Had a lot of fun with it.

Even famous philanthropists and their relatives and household staff were caught up in the craze.

Same here, have good memories of that. eBay has vintage sets for sale. Remember those “Stompers” 4x4 trucks, powered by one AA battery?
I had one as a kid, loved it, used it quite often. You can only buy used vintage ones now, and they get pricey. I wanted to relive that great memory of my youth so I just won one on auction at EBay. Paid more than I should but I have it and it works. When it arrives in a week that is.
They are rare now so prices reflect that.

HO scale cars were a huge part of my life when I was a kid. Great memories.

TMK there's still a commercial slot-car track operating in Brooklyn on a limited schedule (subject to current restrictions); the last one in the NYC metro area and one of the very few remaining tracks in the US, Buzz-a-Rama was/is a local legend and one of the tracks I frequented in my teens (and last raced on in 1968). Still have all my old 1/24 cars BTW - Classic Serpent and Asp II, cast-magnesium chassis Cox Ford GT (rebodied as a Chaparral coupe), Monogram Ferrari Daytona (rebodied as a Ford GT), and a Revell chassis currently sporting a '41 Willys body for electric drag racing - all with original Mabuchi motors; when things open up again I might just dig them out of mothballs, tune them up, and make a couple runs for old times' sake...

For anyone in the Tri-State area who might be interested, here's the FB page:
