On netflix The Stranger (British series) several people being blackmailed by mysterious woman. Suspenseful without excess violence.

Agree The Woods was better with subtitles than in dubbed English

What a good movie... I'm sure George Lucas must have been inspired by the scenes

in...

Just saw John Wayne Airport in Orange County, CA is being "forced" to change its name. Are his movies going to be burned next? Crazy times we're living in.

I'm in the middle of a very light and enjoyable series on Netflix - "Somebody Feed Phil". It's centers on the guy who I guess produced Everybody Loves Raymond traveling all over the world diving into the food culture in all sorts of different cities / regions. He's a kind of goofy guy who keeps it light, but the photography of various locations is freaking GORGEOUS, the people he meets along the way are a lot of fun, and the food is really interesting.. It's light and easy. I've had my fill of stuff like Ozark.

Agreed. Enough dark in the real world.

We are watching, regularly, a charming older BBC series called Lovejoy - the adventures and misadventures of an antique dealer (the aforementioned Lovejoy), who’s what would typically be described as a lovable rogue, together with a superb ensemble cast. It’s great fun, and a welcome escape in 45-50 minute chunks.

On Acorn, and maybe elsewhere.

Season 2 of the Orville was somewhat more serious than Season 1. It still has humorous moments but less tasteless Family Guy type of jokes that didn't seem appropriate. I'm going to miss not being able to see season 3 whenever it comes out; it used to be on broadcast TV on Fox but these days everything has to be PPV.

It was very well done indeed - it also left some unfinished business at the end, which makes me hope for a second run.
Just Finished The Detectorists and really enjoyed it. May need to check Dead Still next.

My wife and I bought that complete series for pennies on the dollar at Half Price Books at one of their sales a number of years ago. We generally like the British material that we see on PBS, so we thought it worth a gamble. It turned out to be excellent, so we have it in rotation once a year or so.

Season 3 of "Yellowstone" has arrived. I'm a fan of Kevin Costner, who plays the grizzled rancher fighting the good fight against the evil corporate entities who want to ruin Montana with their hotels and golf courses. He has three kids, each of whom has his/her own problems, to back him up.

Good acting, gorgeous scenery, interesting characters, and lots of horses. What more could you want?

The other night I watched some physics videos on youtube about the Higgs boson. Photons, traveling at the speed of light, do not experience time or space.

So you're saying that they finally did a remake of Bonanza?

Haha, you make a good point!

Bonanza didn't have any women like Kelly Reilly, though. Not even close!

I didn't hear that but just looked it up. Sounds like it's going to happen (the airport name change, not the movie burning).

I'm also watching the Trailer Park Boys - the Animated Series. Funny stuff but not as good as the original classic run of the first 7 seasons - before the series ended for 7 years and then rebooting on Netflix.
