Serial charter member here.

$25 a year is chump change for the knowledge, amusement and bemusement that the AGF provides.

I agree. This forum is the pinnacle of learning guitar. Nothing compares to it, nothing equates to it and nothing offers more than it.

In the early days of the forum, there was no charter membership or sponsorship. As far as I know, the AGF founder and owner, J.R. Rogers funded it himself until the growth and financial demands warranted a means to provide revenue. I don’t recall which year paying memberships started, but I’ve been a CM since it became available. It’s a small price to pay for all that this place has to offer.

I resumed being a charter member a few months ago. Was a charter member for several years in a row when i first discovered AGF. Decided not to pay for a couple of years. I am happy to have returned to the fold.

I am guilty of not renewing my Charter membership. I will make that right. Maybe with a little influx of cash they will be able to clean the carpets. If not, I still like this place. Kind of like that bar where I hung out when I was younger. Good music and good people. Man, those carpets had stories to tell. Tough to wash away. That is a good thing.

I just found AGF a year ago. I like the forum and I like the people here. I wanted to participate a little more so I became a charter member. It is nice to be a part of something.

Yes rllink, being “part of something” has benefits, and we are glad you’re here!
Your sensitive/sincere posts are appreciated.

I’ve been a charter member pretty much all along, and yet have taken sabbatical periods were I didn’t participate for awhile.
Funny... seems I got more projects done during those times.

I have met some good friends here, and bought and sold a number of instruments and peripherals.
At $25 annual, a couple bucks a month is well worth it!

Thanks LeDave for a great thread idea to lift awareness of the benefits of Charter Membership.

I became a Charter member almost immediately upon joining this Forum. To me, it's a no-brainer giveback for the collective wealth of knowledge, experience and camaraderie which this community provides. Full disclosure - I'm a serial supporter, including a Forum for which I Mod.

When it comes to leisure activities, I'm scared of anything that could be interpreted as a commitment. I have a history of quitting hobbies and sports soon after doing something that suggests I'm taking it seriously.

It is a great way to help keep the AGF lights on. In case anyone is wondering, you can join here.
