Default A New way to cure GAS !

I've been gassing (is that a thing?) for a 0 or 00 12 fret. (ok I've got one but I'd like another, esp as I sold one of my Colling dreads a short while ago, and I discovered an Eastman that might be nice .
Do I need it? of course not.

But ... last Thursday, after having a dental check up with a dentist who suddenly replaced my usual one, I was cleaning my teeth as I tend to do four or five times a day as necessary after the illness business, when I sensed something solid in my mouth.
It was one of my front teeth, sheared at gum level.

if it wasn't for my home grown soup strainer, (the SM) it would look awful (feels wierd and painful too).

I contacted my "new" dentist for an urgent appointment and had to wait until Tuesday when she revealed her new approach to customer care which was all about insurance premiums. In short I walked out, and cancelled my insurance plan with that practice.

Today I went to another dentist recommended by some. Result, he can do the business and retrieve the situation but - its gonna cost me about the same as the guitar I was thinking about.

So, GAS resolved! .................... why don't I feel happy?

You don't feel happy because your GAS is not cured or resolved; just temporarily pushed aside by a more urgent need. There's only one real cure...and we all know what that is!

I don’t think teeth are a good trade for a guitar! Isn’t some holiday coming to justify it!

Best of luck with your teeth! The can sure be a pain in the... I’ll just leave it at that.

Sounds like you lost both ways. No guitar and less money in your pocket.

There is...

It is a law of Nature...It's called getting old and worn out...

It kinda sucks...sometimes, like for instance, when it "sucks" the money out of your GGF (Guitar Gas Fund), and sends it to your BTF (Broken Tooth Fund).

Which is no fun-d...at all {;-(

My condolences "Silly"

Tough way to set GAS aside. Wish you the best on the new tooth. I think we are old enough to remember "All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth." At least all you need is one.

GAS is never cured, it is only relieved. In this case so was your wallet. As someone who just majorly gave into GAS pains you have my sympathies, Andy. Right now I'm feeling thankful I have dental insurance.

How many teeth do we really need, anyway? 32 seems like quite a lot, eh?

Good luck with the new dentist, Andy. There's way more guitars out there (that we all want) than teeth.

On a serious note, if you are able and willing to travel, I have received great dentistry in Vietnam for very reasonable money. Message me if you would like more info.

It better be just about free to offset the airfare, hotel and meals you have to spend.

Put the tooth under your pillow and pray for that Eastman.

I had six porcelain crowns done last year, top class treatment. Air fare and a three week stay in three star hotels, still came out at just over half the cost of the same treatment in the UK or Ireland.
