My Father has an 88-89 710 that he bought new, it is easily the best sounding Taylor dread I've ever played. Much more of a cannon than my 93 710. He bought it for my 12th birthday. My sister also got a 712 at the same time(her 15th B-Day), which she still plays regularly. It needs a set up and possibly a neck set but these are all great instruments that have made great memories for our family.

I am not the original owner of the 79 710, but my wife did buy it for me from the orginal owner. So I guess two owners in 32 years ain't bad. My wonderful wife new I really want a 1979 Taylor, and she actually found one! I was just shocked when she gave it to me!

I have a '91 712, so I squeak in under the wire. You don't see so many 712 models any more, which is a shame. Mine is still in great shape. It has been re-fretted, but no other work has been done or is needed.

It is nice to see these 712s come out of hiding (you don't hear much about them on this forum). Great little guitar.

I have a 1989 712.

I bought it a few months ago from a private owner. no idea about history.

it is in really great shape.

it sounds great. plays great. I really like it alot. and it is really comfortable for sitting on the couch and playing. very light weight. and very user friendly comfy shape. its a babe.

I don't play it often, so I sometimes think of getting rid of it. then I pick it up and play it and think there is just no way.

'96 410CE purchased in late 1996. Some cosmetic changes - John Pearse armrest, gold tuners with ebony buttons, Fishman Rare-Earth added in stereo with stock Fishman PreFix, Colosi bone saddle. Refret last year. I'll have to see if I can find some pictures later.

I'm happy to oblige. I'm afraid I'm not much of a photographer, but what the heck. The side color looks different in the two shots for reasons I can't explain since both were taken within minutes of each other. Back then the 615 was plainly appointed, very much like the 414, and the fretboard and bridge are rosewood. The tuners are original Schaller knock-offs, and the Taylor logo is a gold decal. That's a Baggs M1 in the soundhole, with its cap painted black. The neck on this guitar is extremely slim, with a soft V shape. I have yet to play another that feels quite like it.

That is a nice looking guitar Chris! Has the old bridge. Probably has the same neck shape as my 855. Truly nice!

Dru,

Original owner of the 94 912c, but others I've picked up over the years. I like them all as they are all very different, but I play the K-22 the most. Due to it's quirkiness, I'd have to say the J15 is the coolest of the bunch, it's an unusual guitar.
