000 12-fret is the most comfortable (baseball bat neck, wide stringspacing). But it is not the best sounding.

I'm torn on this. I like the sound of my D size guitars, but like the feel of my smaller Loar LH-200. I guess I need to start looking at a 0000 size guitar maybe.

I like 000 the best but I am fairly adaptable. The only instrument I have ever found uncomfortable to play is the the banjo, I find the fretting hand position very uncomfortable to maintain so never play it. I’m probably doing it wrong.

I’ve never played a more comfortable guitar than my Emerald X-20. Emerald describe it as their dreadnought-sized guitar, but it’s actually much closer to an OM. With the very friendly body contouring, it fits me perfectly.

I’m 5’9”, and not skinny

As are all the other banjo players.

I’m 6 feet tall with monkey arms. In theory I should be comfortable with dreadnoughts (both Martin and Gibson styles) - but I’ve gradually realised although I can play them, I actually don’t enjoy it as much as I should and the extra volume and bass isn’t worth it. Now I’m very much converted to smaller bodies - and my 12-fret 000 is probably the most comfortable.

00 for me. Might like a 000 but have never tried one. Really no issues with dreads, but the 00 is super comfortable and playing solo at home I don't miss the volume.

I'm a pretty big guy, parlors get lost in my lap, can't keep them in one place

What acoustic body shape fits YOU the best?

Short Scale Taylor Grand Concert.

My 412e-R sitka/rosewood is the best fit.
Strung with Elixir PB HD Lights (.013 - .053).
Only drawback is to take care that the smaller size isn't overdriven.
Well broken-in, and has a nicely balanced sound from bass to treble, helped by x-bracing and rosewood body.

I fingerpick all my instruments using my nails as picks.

Second place would be either of my Taylor Grand Orchestras.
Both have same large body size and shape, sharing sitka over rosewood x-braced construction, and can produce as light or as loud a sound as desired. The 818 six string can be played with a surprisingly delicate tone within its sonic range, while the 458e-R twelve string can be an instant 'wall of sound'.
818e is strung with Elixir PB HD Lights (.013 - .053).
458e is strung with Elixir PB 12 string Lights (.010 - .047).
Taylor six-string nuts are 1+3/4" wide, while the 12 string nuts are 1+7/8" in width.

In general, all my guitars passed the 'feel good' test before they were allowed to follow me home. They are all either Jumbo shapes or a Jumbo-related shape. The Grand Concerts are akin to a small jumbo, while the Grand Orchestras are Jumboes with a wider waist. I find the Jumbo shape produces the most balanced sound for my ears.

I’ve had them all…and love the sound of a good dread, but I’ve decided a 00 is what floats my boat. It’s a great personal sized “home player” & since I’ll never play any gigs, it works great.

Being an old (very old) bluegrasser, dreads have been my main weapon of choice for many years, but covid and hand issues have pretty much left them in cases until this month.

I have three dreads one deep jumbo , a 000 , and my more recent purchases were a zize "0" abd "00" by Eastman. All are 12 fretters.

Dreads are 25.5" scale with mediums
Jumbo 24.75" with mediums
000 25.5" with lights,
Waterloo (kinda 00) 24.75" with lights
0 and 00 24.9 with lights.

They all feel great to me.

For me, it's without question a Collings OM. Perfect size, brilliant neck, seems to play itself.

I do love bigger guitars, and they feel fine, but the Collings OMs are playing perfection.

Smaller are fun, and I really like 00s; but they do feel a little, well, small.

My Collings OMs are Goldilock guitars: not too big, not too small, just right.

Honestly don't have a distinct preference. I like 000/Concert bodies, but more for their versatility than for comfort.

Another vote for 000 12fret. My preference is long scale, slightly wider soft-V neck.

So what body shape fits you best and why?
I'm shorter than you. Having said that, any Gibson Jumbo (NOT Super Jumbo) fits me the best.
