Default Need advice for buying a guitar

Hi everyone,
I'm predominantly an electric player and I'm playing mostly symphonic metal and neoclassical and I'd like to record some acoustic guitar parts for some of my songs. I've got a Line 6 James Tyler Variax JTV-69 which does a great job of emulating both 6 and 12 string acoustic guitars with steel strings, but what I'm looking for now is a 6 string acoustic guitar with nylon strings. I can't seem to find one that has all of the following characteristics:
1) 6 strings
2) Nylon strings
3) 24 frets
4) Frets are marked (3, 5, 7, 9, 12, 15, 17, 19, 21, 24)
5) Built-in microphone so I can amplify the guitar
6) All 24 frets are available on all 6 strings (I've seen some Ovation models that have 24 frets, but only for the high E string)

I've perused the Ovation, Taylor, and Yamaha sites in addition to Guitar Center, Musician's Friend, and Sweetwater, and I can't find an acoustic guitar that meets these criteria. Ideally, the fretboard would be narrow and not a big, wide classical neck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Scott

Default Very close, but 22 frets!

Thanks for the links to the Godin guitars. They look great and meet every criteria, except they all go to 22 frets instead of 24. If I were going to be strumming chords, I wouldn't care. But most of what I'm going to be doing is on the higher frets and I love playing in Em and jumping up octaves, so if I can't get to the 24th fret on that high E string, I can't octave up.

Those Godin guitars look great; I just wish they'd go to 24 frets. Thanks again!

Sorry I can't help with suggestions -- good luck -- but your musical interests sound fascinating. Consider posting something some time. I'd love to hear it.

Taylor has a build to order program. Check with an authorized Taylor dealer. He should be able to tell you if Taylor will make a 24 fret.

And, there's this Takamine: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Takamine...73887992465.gc

Possibly get a 7-string, use standard strings for the 7,6,5,4,3,2, and an .022" or so for the 1.

What about this...

http://rickturnerguitars.com/renaissance-nylon

It gets almost to 24 frets on the low E.

Later

Mr. Fingers: Thanks for your interest! We have a demo video for a demo recording of one song posted on YouTube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gcjs...PwOXDA&index=3
We're in the process of shooting a real music video for it now, though it will be mostly new imagery and will be motion video instead of the slide show you see now. We're also working on our second song and it's much more complex than this one. We'll never be rich or famous, but we're having fun exploring a life-long dream of going as far as we can with it!

JCPO: Thank you so much for letting me know about the Taylor build to order program! I'm going to look into it, but I'm guessing it will be out of my price range. I do love Taylor guitars though...

Bax Burgess: You know, I've been intrigued by the idea of a seven string for a long time, but I'm probably not good enough to handle the change yet. Perhaps if I can break through some technical barriers I'll feel ready to give it a try. I should try to play a 7 at Guitar Center or some place like that, just to see what it's like!

Rob2966: I've never even heard of Rick Turner guitars before; thank you for that link! Their guitars look beautiful and I was delighted to see that Lindsey Buckingham plays one. That solves a mystery; I saw Fleetwood Mac about 2 years ago and Lindsey Buckingham was playing some unusual looking guitars and, yep, one of these Rick Turners for sure. Awesome! Looking forward to hearing their price quote.
