Default My First Bevel Guitar

Just recently completed construction of my first "Ryan" style bevel. The guitar is still without a finish but I thought I share some pictures regardless. I must say that I felt a great sense of accomplishment with this guitar. Figuring out the bevel was challenging and I had a great time building this one. I was also surprised by how much more comfortable the bevel makes the instrument. I was expecting a slight increase in ergonomics but the increase is very significant. I am now a huge fan of the bevel!!! -- God bless Kevin Ryan and Grit Laskin for bringing the bevel to its current state of innovation.

Here's a link to more photos of the guitar:

Kind Regards,
Simon

oooh...a bevel and a florentine cut....very nice!! I love the bloodwood purfling and lines in the fingerboard. They'll really stand out when it's finished!

Very nice, Simon.
I particularly admire the heel area, and the precision in evidence there.
Great work!

It is a beautiful guitar Simon.

I played one of your guitars at Cathedral Music in Troy, NY... and loved it. I'm a pretty dedicated Lowden player and your guitars are one of the few others that give me serious GAS

Simon,

Your choice of woods for purfling/bevel/rosette really compliment one another. From a players perseptive I have often thought that is one of the more challenging aspects of incorporating a bevel. It becomes a focal point that can occassionally clash or distract from other elements of an instrument. Beautifully done!

Hands down, my favorite looking guitar I've ever seen. I LOVE the simply appointments, the coco b/s, and the bevel is simply breathtaking. GREAT JOB!!!!

Great job on the Ryan-style bevel. I like your all wood choices, very organic look, which I love.
