Default Zack Balwinski - Harlow Archtop

Hello everybody, my name is Zack Balwinski. I have been working for Bryan Galloup teaching in his school for the past 8 years. I also build my own instruments out of his shop, alongside Tyler Robbins and Sam Guidry.

Below are some photos of my most recent Archtop build that I would like to share.

Model: Harlow 1701 25.5"- 25"

Hey Zack,

Beautiful work! Is the wood that extends from both sides of the tailpiece only decorative?

Action adjuster is my bet...

That's a beautiful burst. Is that sprayed, or hand applied?

Thanks! Tinker is right, it is a wedge style bridge. To adjust the action the wedge is pushed in, to lower it you pull the wedge out.

Killer looks and craftsmanship, Zack!

Love the subtle fan-fret as well...

Zack, that is another beautiful guitar. I still have a picture of the one you finished during our class. Two exceptional guitars.

Thank you! The peghead burst idea is what led me to the rest of the burst with ebony binding. Its kind of difficult to see in the photos but there is actually a fair amount of depth to the peghead with a 3d carved center.

Not the best photos but it should give you the idea!
