Default 12 String Archtop

FYI Martin experimented with the idea in the early-1930's,\ using a C-2 as a basic platform, but there seems to be little interest then or now for a 12-string instrument with prominent midrange and short sustain, both of these the total opposite for why most people buy 12's in the first place...

Here is the experiment you refer to, Steve, in the hands of Mark O'Connor

And here is one that John Monteleone built for a former Long Island musical anomaly, Billy McEwan.

Guillaume Rancourt's 12 string, and most of his archtops, are built from rosewood back & sides, and cedar tops. He's really one of the best archtop builders around!
