Default New Original: "Graceful Aging"

Hi folks!

Here's a new one that I recorded last week. It's called "Graceful Aging" and played on my 2000 McCollum GA (Italian/Braz). It's done in DGDGBE tuning( capo 1) which I've done a fair amount of work in over the years and it's served me well.
My wife, who helps name many of my tunes felt that it reflected kind of a theme of passing years, and so ultimately that's how and where the title comes from.
Thanks for taking a listen!!
NOTE: This is a mastered track, so it's at "commercial volume", so be careful and set your volume accordingly.

Lovely sounds in there, Fred! No sharp edges and very warm. I really like this composition and your recording.

It sounds like the microphones are fairly close to the guitar, which in my experience always yields the best sound. My problem with mics being too close is that I let out breaths of air during my playing that hit the mics and cause little explosions and consequently wreck the recording.

That was totally enjoyable, Fred. I do hear some hints in there about graceful aging. I will keep working on that!

Be well, Fred!

Agree with Glen, no edges, just the way I love a fingerstyle recording. I know its hard to pick favorites, but I love the sound of the McCollum and you couldn't pay me to pick between it and the Doerr for your tunes. Both sound so great. Well done, man!

Thank you so much, Glenn!! Yes, I would say the mics were in the 8-12" range for this recording. I also moved my broad ban panels a bit, with two up front and one behind, with the set-up more in the near-center of the room. Hard to say if this made some difference.
Yes, the mics are so sensitive! Pretty amazing.
So pleased you enjoyed this one Glenn, many thanks!
Fred

Many thanks, Dustin!! Yeah, the McCollum fills a lot of space, and of course the Doerr is......well, the Doerr! They are both excellent.....the Doerr has a little more power, the McCollum a little more delicate.
Thanks for taking time to listen and comment, Dustin. Great hearing from you!

Hope all is well on your end!
Fred
