Best program for saving MP3 audio from a YouTube?
I used to have something like this about 10 years ago, and I'm sure there's something better now.
First (okay, second) let me say this is NOT for selling or sharing with others. It's just for me, so I don't believe I'd be in violation of any copyrights. Corrrect me if I'm wrong. I have some nice nature videos on my PC that I recorded without sound. And I have software to mix in audio - probably some gentle guitar instrumentals. Just looking for a way to blend in music that I actually enjoy instead of what comes with the editing software. Any good freeware/shareware programs I should try? Thanks. |

I've been using Audacity (freeware) for many years to convert my LP's and cassettes to audio files. Audacity can also record the audio from anything you're playing on your computer. I've used it on YouTube videos of myself or my band to put together a CD to send for festival applications.

There are plenty of online free tools to do just this (and quickly too!) but make sure you use one that allows you to choose the output format and quality. Those are really the keys to any audio file. Good luck!

Being that I run Linux, I use yt-dlp and wrote an extensive bash script to the type and quality of conversion. I will modify and rebuild yt-dlp as needed too.
